On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at 00:42 hours the North East Fire Company and mutual aid fire companies responded to a mobile home fire. The fire occurred in the 100 block of Superior Court in the Lakeside Mobile Home Park. During the incident four fighters were injured while engaged in fire suppression operations and conducting a primary search of the interior. The injured firefighters were transported to John Hopkins Bayview Burn Center and Union Hospital of Cecil County. The North East Fire Company extends their thoughts and prayers to the injured firefighters, first responders and their families. The origin and cause of the early morning fire is under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
